Position Title:        CASA Director
Classification:       Exempt; Full-Time
Reports to:             Executive Director
Supervises:           CASA Coordinator (Assistant) / CASA Volunteers
Minimum Qualifications:  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field, with a Master preferred and a minimum of 1-3 years supervisory and/or administrative experience.  Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication abilities.  Position requires a sensitivity to the diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds of clients and the community.
POSITION PURPOSE:  Administers all phases of Court-Appointed Special Advocates program, including recruitment, screening, training, and supervision of CASA volunteers.  Responsible for all aspects of program development and adherence to National CASA standards.
 Essential Functions: 

  1. Recruit and screen volunteers.  Provide a minimum of 30 hour training for new volunteers, and periodic in-service trainings.
  2.  Provide supervision to 25-30 volunteers
  3.  Assign volunteers to child abuse/domestic violence cases in conjunction with the Family Court Judges; attends Family Court.
  4.  Provide consultation and guidance to CASA volunteers.
  5.  Provide direct service as a CASA to child victims.
  6.  Maintain service delivery records; prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  7.  Assist with development of in-service presentations and other in-service activities for CASA advocates.
  8.  Network with community service agencies and make appropriate referrals.
  9.  Deliver presentations to community and civic groups.
  10.  Research funding sources and prepare applications/grants.
  11.  Supervise CASA Coordinator and Administrative Assistant on a daily basis.
  12.  Assist Judges and County Attorneys in the interviewing of children.
  13.  Prepare and counsel child victims concerning court proceedings.
  14.  Participate in professional development training through attendance at appropriate training’s and other related activities.
  15.  Organize and facilitate volunteer and committee meetings.
  16.  Perform other duties as determined by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
